ABOUT SIMA

sima and reiki

In 1997 Sima had a dream in which she was told “to use” her hands, as she woke up she could only think of Reiki. Same year, Sima came across a book “Living Reiki: Takata’s teaching” by Fran Brown, about 6 months later she was on the phone with Fran. First question was: can I see you, can you introduce me to Reiki? She saved some money and flew to San Mateo (USA) where Fran Brown lived. Afterwards, Sima met Fran in Paris where she went every year to teach Reiki. Since 1998, Sima practices Reiki every day on herself and her clients.

Burn-out, chronic fatigue: an opportunity for a new beginning.

I am extremely passionate about how mind, emotions and body work together, this is one of the reasons why I have done lots of body/therapy work in my life. When I was in my 30s, it was the first time in my life that I experienced constant exhaustion and was not able to work or to do anything else except rest. I felt lost and desperate losing total control of my life. Before breaking down I was in denial for a long time. It was very difficult for someone like me, accepting or even considering slowing down. And there I was, my body had decided what my brain still wished to deny, moreover my emotions were kicking in, very contradictorily, I was feeling mostly guilty because I was not “productive” enough.

I found yoga during that period and during this deep transformation, I became a dedicated yoga teacher in Amsterdam. It became my life and profession for about 8 years, all sorts of classes and people filled my life. It is very fulfilling for me to be able to share what I learned in these difficult moments.

In 2008 I returned to work in an office, and some years ago I experienced a really deep burn-out. That was in 2016, I knew deep down that I had to return to something extremely nourishing for myself and that was yoga. I recovered within a year, and that was when I decided to start teaching and coaching again, this is most definitely my call.

Yoga and wellbeing practices are deeply transformative, they have helped me to find my purpose and joy in my life, my hope is that I can share and support you to find yours.
